My Influential Mom

My mom is one of the most influential and important person in my life today. What makes her special is that she always tries her best to take my side, when I am in a heated argument. Another reason that makes her special is that she works so hard to make sure that we will live amazing lives and she is willing to do anything to make us feel better. She isn’t a single mom, but most of the times she kind of is because my dad is always on a business trip far away. That leaves less time to play and have fun with me as she needs to give rides to my sister’s art school and ACT tutoring. Most of the time when we are at school she goes and helps the elderly to car for them, this is another reason why she is influential. Although her schedule is really busy, she takes the time to help out others. My favorite memory with her is going to eat brunches with her, when ever I have a day off we usually go to restaurants and just enjoy the time and food together. It makes me feel happy that she takes her time out to spend the day with me. Another time was when we went to Universal Studios, it was so fun to go to through the park together as we went through differently themed parts of the park. I had a really fun time together and I smile every time I picture this memory. These are all the reasons why I believe my mom is one of the most influential person in my life today.

20% Project-Week 5

This week went pretty smooth as on Friday I researched the restaurant I wanted to go and I actually went there for once. I went to Holé Molé as a Mexican restaurant and had a pretty good time overall. One thing that could’ve been better this week was choosing another date. I wanted to go there on Tuesday because of Taco Tuesday specials and I had dinner pretty late so I had to write this blog at night with little time. I don’t think I will reach my overall goal of rating ten restaurants and I believe that I will get to seven, the reason for this is I choosing dine in restaurants and they take a lot more time then going through a drive through. If I were to repeat the same thing ever again I would rate fast-food restaurants because not only are they so much cheaper, they also take less time. I think by next week I should have all seven restaurants and I would start creating my review board of all the restaurants I reviewed. Although I might not be able to reach my goal I believe I reviewed some underrated restaurants that deserve more praise. Thank you so much for reading and check in next week for the final update.

Rad Reading-April

This month I read Chomp by Carl Hiaasen. The book was about a boy, Wahoo, who’s father is an animal trainer, tragedy strikes their family when Mickey, the father, gets struck by a falling iguana. The family is in peril due to the medical hospital bills and Mickey not being able to work. Wahoo’s mother travels to China in order to translate and teach Mandarin to help gain money for the family. Another reason the family is running out of money is because some of Mickey’s animals are carnivores and they require a lot of meat. Mickey gets invited to take place in a reality wildlife T.V. show that fakes all of their shows. Wahoo quickly accepts after founding out how much they are willing to pay, however in the contract the Mickey carelessly signs it is said that the wildlife T.V. show can mistreat the animal if they want to. After Derek Badger, the T.V. show’s star, almost dies multiple time, Derek decides to film with untamed animals as a “heroic” feat. Everything goes worse when Wahoo meets Tuna, a girl from his school. Tuna runs away on a trip with Wahoo and Mickey, due to her father’s abusive behaviors. Although there is harsh weather and animals Wahoo, Mickey, and Tuna lead the way and try their best to make it safe for everyone. I liked this book very much because the amount of action that was presented in the book, it was full of action and very enjoyable book to read. I love this book due to the amount of dialogue present and used in this novel to make you feel like you are in the book. My favorite character is Mickey, this is because he is stubborn in a way which he protects and cares for all his animals, “‘I don’t care what their stupid paperwork says-I’m the only one in charge of my animals.'” This proves that even though the paperwork he signed says the T.V. program can do what ever they want to the animals, he won’t let them. My favorite quote from the book is, “Mickey Cray had been out of work ever since a dead iguana fell from a palm tree and hit him on the head.” This is my favorite quote because not only does it start the novel, it explains the reason why Mickey took the job as an animal wrangler for such a corrupt company. Over everything I said I believe that Chomp was a short but a fun read perfect for reading during the summer. I am also looking forward to reading many more of Carl Hiaasen’s books.

20% Project-Week 4

This week was probably the most stressful week of the 20% project. This was because my sister had very many interviews for applying for jobs, and the weekends were filled with work time. I barely had anytime for traveling to restaurants, which caused me to visit only one restaurant. I visited Kiyo with my family this Monday and that was the only restaurant I went to. My next goal is to go for cheaper restaurant as the total for Kiyo was pretty high due to us getting premium quality sashimi and sushi. I also decided that I won’t be repeating different cultural food like if I choose Korean barbecue I won’t be doing anymore Korean foods. So far the cultural restaurants I’ve been to are Japan, Korea, China, Greece, and Vietnam. I am currently trying to visit are Italian and Mexican restaurants, I have chosen a couple choices for both and I will check back in next week to inform you what choices I will have made. Thank you for reading and come back next week for Week 5.

20% Project-Week 3

This week went smoothly even though I was very busy. I finally got to visit two restaurants in one week, I went to Seven Grams and Phoholic. The reason I had a busy week was that I was out for the weekends along with Friday to attend a training camp for a position I wanted in a program I do. I ended up getting the position, however I missed out on opportunities to visit dine in restaurant in Orange County. This week overall went pretty good, I wish I’d visited a random restaurant instead of one I have visited before. Seven Grams, the first restaurant I visited was probably the highest rated restaurant I visited so far, and although Phoholic was good the restaurant itself was hard to find as it was underground in a mall. By next week I want to have visited 5 restaurant and I want to visit a restaurant that is very underrated and not recognized. My main goal by the end will be to visit at least 8 restaurants in Orange County and rate them. Thank you and come back next week for Week 4.

My Favorite Room

My favorite room in my house is the living room. One reason for this is it has a big window, which I love looking out of on a rainy day. Another reason is my very comfortable couch which I love to sleep in with a soft blanket. Whether it is reading, sleeping, or just sitting down I love to do it in my living room. I have many great memories in my living room such as playing board games with my family, watching countless movies, and snuggling with my cats. My living room is a very large open space near the front door of my house, on the wall there is a T.V. with a console below it. On the console there are a couple family photos, decoration, and my gaming devices such as my Nintendo and my Oculus. The other side of the room has a very comfy and large leather couch that is on top of my carpet, in the middle of that carpet there is a large glass coffee table. Parallel to the front door is the very large window, which I love to observe my garden in. Finally my last reason for the living room is the tv, I love watching series on Netflix while it is raining outside. It makes me feel calm and at ease, these are all the reasons why I believe that the living room is the best part of my house.

20% Project, Week 2

I had a stressful week with do many struggles. To start off I went to brunch on Sunday and rated Panini Kabob Grill, however that was the only restaurant I went to all week. This week was filled with stress as all of my family members were busy and could not drive me to a restaurant, therefore I couldn’t visit any restaurants. I want visit at least two restaurants again as goal, to make up for all the restaurants I missed. Because things went horribly this week I want to make a schedule for what restaurants I want to visit so we can all make time and go to dinner together. Next week will be really stressful because I have to go to a training camp and I will be out for three days. I would like to rate one restaurant before I go and another one after I come back from camp. By next week I really hope I am not as stressed as I was this week. Thank you for reading see you next week!

Travel to the Renaissance

Last night, while I was finishing up my essay, something peculiar happened to me. I saw a flying platypus sitting across the street when I went to take a closer look, it just disappeared. My visions began to blur as everything turned black. When I woke up I took a look outside and the window seemed odd that’s when I realized I had gone back in time. The window was casement and my room was made of stone. I began to wonder what time period I was in, maybe the Middle Ages or the Renaissance. I went outside to take a walk, the town was empty like ghost town not a single soul could be seen. I saw a weird figure in the distance so I made my way towards it, I soon as I got close I could tell it was a scarecrow. The city was full of color and very artistic which caused me to believe that this way during the time of Renaissance. I could tell it was reformed from the Middle Ages, I wanted to see if anyone was in this town so I went inside a building however nothing seemed present. I must be hallucinating I thought, my vision became hazy as I woke up. It was dream however my essay wasn’t finished.

A Dinner for Four

If I were to ever have dinner with anybody, the top three people I would bring are both my mom, dad, and Dr. Ronald Miller. To explain Dr. Ronald Miller is the best anesthesiologist in the world and I would love to talk to him about his job and what universities he went to, because when I get older I would either want to be in business, or be in anesthesiology. A reason I would bring my parents is all the hard things they do to keep me happy and how much struggles they go through just for me. I would want to go to a fancy steakhouse restaurant and I would want it to be on the highest story of a tall building in a big city to get great views while enjoying the dinner. I would also want the restaurant to be dimly lighted as I don’t often enjoy restaurants too much when they are very bright. That is what I would do if I ever got the chance to invite three people to any restaurant I want.

20% Project, Week 1

Hello my name is Isaac, and for my 20% project I will be rating restaurants in Orange County. I decided to pick this topic because I wanted to get to know restaurants around Orange County and I wanted to get people to try new and different food. This week my goal was to visit at least one restaurant, I achieved that goal however by next week I want to visit two restaurants. The first restaurant I visited was I Got My Sound Chicken, I Got My Sound Chicken is a Korean fried Chicken restaurant in Fullerton about 25 minutes from Tustin. I Got My Sound Chicken got a 4.8/5 rating due to their friendly staff, clean interior, flavorful food, and creativity of the food and restaurant. This week was an ok week, because I would have liked to visit more restaurants however I only had time for one. I had a struggle picking restaurants to go to because I am very indecisive, I want to pick certain restaurants a week before I actually go to them. My next goal for week 2 is I want to rate more restaurants that are closer to my home so I don’t have to bother my parents into driving me a long way just for a school project.
